Fallimento

European Union carbon-dioxide allowances for delivery in December 2010 declined 8.3 percent to close at 12.45 euros ($17.82) on the European Climate Exchange in London Today was the first day of trading since the summit concluded Dec. 19.....last week’s drop of 6.8 percent and left prices at the lowest since March 31. Allowances for delivery in December 2010 have fallen 24 percent this year as the lack of progress on climate talks and recession reduced demand.
------ The natural gas market is currently in the midst of a profound transition – and changes are occurring more rapidly than ever before. This winter starts with storage almost 450 billion cubic feet above the five-year average, but it is unlikely to stay that way. During the past decade, demand for natural gas has become increasingly weather-sensitive. As a result, swings in demand of 500 – 700 Bcf (or even more) between mild and harsh winters have become increasingly common. Since late October, Energy Business Watch has been forecasting one of the coldest winters – the period from December through February – in the past 20 years. Therefore, the most important question for the direction of natural gas prices over the next few months is: If this forecast validates – will the storage surplus be eliminated entirely and prices strengthen? And if this occurs, how high will prices shoot up? Or will the industry’s unprecedented capability to increase production in a short time maintain a heavy surplus and keep a lid on prices?
